Kitchener: Portrait of an Imperialist

$20.00

By Philip Magnus

Published By John Murray

Year Published 1958

Book Format - Hard cover

Summary

This book is a thoughtful and critical account of a great national hero. Kitchener became a legend in his lifetime, a symbol, and a myth. It shows the man did his duty and yet was incapable of working in a team, he was the definition of an Authoritarian whose flaws were later exposed as Secretary of State for War from 1914-1916. It should be noted that his character was that of a dogged, devoted, intensely passionate British soldier, who sacrificed his private life for his country. He was a titan who outlived the time that made him famous.

Notes - Slight wear and tear on dust jacket. Signature on flyleaf.
