They Wanted War

$20.00

Author - Otto D. Tolischus

Year published - 1940

Published by - Reynal & Hitchcock

Book Format - Hard Cover

Genre - Spanish Civil War & Interwar Years

Summary

The title of this book is a partial quote from Hitler during a speech. It occurred after Britain and France decided to oppose his occupation of Poland. That said, there are plenty of excellent books on pre-war Germany and the rise of the Nazi party, this one is of interest because it dwells on the religious and artistic aspect of National Socialism which are often passed over. Hitler had very strong views on good versus bad art, he also wanted to break the connection between the Catholic Church and the German people. The author is not excusing or slighting the harm done by the Nazi regime, he simply explains it in a somewhat unusual and therefore interesting viewpoints.

Notes - No dust jacket Some wear and tear on cover
